Hello, I am Tomas from Lithuania! Originally I am from a city called \u0160iauliai, the 4th largest city in Lithuania. But currently I am living in Kaunas and studying electronics engineering in Kaunas University of Technology and I am in my 4th year of my bachelor’s degree.<\/p>

My interest in electronics started in early childhood, as every electronical toy was disassembled. I started with LEGO robotics in ~2013 and I made my first mini sumo robot in ~2016. Since then, I have competed in many many competitions around Europe. And I do have to say, that my start in robotics was rough, because I was trying to innovate, create something new and do it myself and not follow some teachers design. Because of that, from 2017 till 2019 there wasn’t many wins. But all of these losses and innovations started resulting in success and in my latest years typically I am able to win at least one prize place in every competition I go to.\u00a0 You can check out my LinkedIn for the reports. By the way I mainly specialise in mini sumo, because combat robots in Lithuania is still quite recent, but I do have some designs that have some wins. One of the things that I am proud of is a detailed blog post about my mini sumo robot at our friends website: blog.jsumo.com\/shadow-sumo-ktu-robotics\/<\/a> It turns out many people have read and followed my tips and it’s really rewarding when you go to competitions and learn that they utilised my knowledge.\u00a0<\/p>

You might ask why did I decide to create this company? I saw that the market in the EU was slacking, also some of the prices are quite high for performance products and I thought that I should utilise all of my skills and knowledge into creating something successful. So I hope everyone will be happy with their products!<\/p>

Apart from robotics I do like to organise events.
One of my first solo events was a drone race called “Dronahell”. I was 16 at the time and joined\u00a0 “\u0160iauliai nights” event team. And from then even untill now I am still organising this competition.\u00a0

My biggest and still ongoing yearly event – a drone racing competition that started in 2019 as a crazy idea and now it’s the biggest competition in the Baltic countries! This year we had 32 pilots in total with many big brands sponsoring the event.\u00a0

You may know I am a member of my local makerspace – Kaunas Makerspace<\/a>\u00a0
As a way to promote our place I decided to create a workshop for antweight robots. The biggest difficulty we had is to lower the cost. Because of that we decided that we should use recycled our partners FilaLab<\/a>\u00a0filament and LiPo batteries from used vapes. Also to lower the cost, the robots are controlled with bluetooth. Because of all of this, the cost of one of these robots is only ~16eur.\u00a0

In 2024 organisers called and asked if I want to organise a drone racing competition during “Comic Con Baltics 2024”. Unfortunately due to time constraints I refused, but I suggested that I organise an antweight competition during the event.\u00a0<\/p>

It was a really fun event in which we also had the most “Comic” robot awards! And some might notice – the creator and owner of “Drumbotics<\/a>” won the event. They are our great partners so check them out!<\/p>
