Description
The Tangent Drive 1406 is a small brushless motor designed specifically for antweight combat robots using a tangent-drive drivetrain.
The motor has a 5 mm knurled tangent-drive shaft designed to press directly into a suitable wheel. A carefully selected interference fit is important: too little and the wheel can slip on the shaft, while too much can place excessive load on the motor.
It is designed for 2–4S LiPo batteries and weighs only around 13 g with the full-length wires, making it particularly attractive for lightweight antweight robots where both space and weight are limited.
For an easier drivetrain setup, it can be paired with Repeat Drive Axles and a suitable AM32 brushless ESC.
